Fundamentally saying are humans though, imperfect, essentially kind, sensible, good-natured??? Or are we deep down weird to be bad, insular, ideal, vain, selfish?? There's is no clear answer, and there's clearly variation between individuals.
For thousands of years, philosophers have debated whether we have basically good nature that is corrupted by society or a bad nature that is checked by society.
One of the most significant ways is to look at babies. Babies' minds are a wonderful showcase of human nature. Babies are humans with minimum cultural influence- they don't have friends, have never been to school, haven't read any books, don't know what's going on in this world, they are just happy in their own world. they can't even hold their bowls, so their minds are so close to innocent minds.
To do this babies were made to watch puppet shows where different colored shapes acted differently in their own ways that were clearly understandable and morally right. The only main problem is the lack of language that makes it tricky to gauge their opinions. Normally we ask people or make an offer to say something in return, but it is not the case with the babies. Babies may be cuter to work with, they are not known for their docility.
With this reference to babies, I would like to say that every human has two sides good and bad, the only thing that matters is which side do you choose and which side do you see of others.
